HENNY VRIENTEN

Henny Vrienten from Tilburg began his career in Les Cruches and Sweet William (1970). He became especially famous for writing hits for The Cats, Blue Diamonds, Next One and Nick Mackenzie. Besides that, he recorded solo albums under the names Paul Santos and Ruby Carmichael and, for a short while, he was also a member of Sammie America's Gasphetti (1978) and Rumbones (1977). Last but not least, he accompanied Boudewijn de Groot regularly on guitar and that is where he got to meet members of Doe Maar, before joining the latter group at the end of 1980.

SLUMBERLAND BAND

After the break-up of CCC Inc., four ex-members formed the Slumberland Band in 1975. They were: Ernst Jansz (v, o, p), Joost Belinfante (v, g, vi), Frits van Doornik (v, vi) and Johnny Lodewijks (dr). Piet Dekker (ex-Tortilla) was added on bass. After two singles and an LP, the group broke up in 1976. Frits moved to Ibiza and released a single as Friedrich Hlawatsch; the others accompanied Boudewijn de Groot for a while and then formed the Rumbones in 1977. Following the break-up of the Rumbones in 1978, Joost went solo, and Piet and Ernst formed Dutch group Doe Maar. Joost recorded a single with Joost Nuissl as Jjoooosstt.
